LOVE Hearts: Unborn Elizabeth Love September 2008 Mixed media on canvas 100x100x35mm
I've heard it said that knitting skips a generation. In preparation for the birth of a baby I have gifted a painting instead.

I don't have the knitting gene either. My mother was a knitter until her eyes got too old, I have no children - so that's one line of knitters gone. Mum spends 2 workdays a week at the resthome (I pick her up after work) and the residents are teaching local high school kids to knit - so a new generation gets into it. Cool huh?
From initial interest and employment in the fields of ticket-writing and calligraphy, my mark-making has progressed to richly textured, multi-layered abstract paintings - often including script.
I so love being a painter! My work has been described as that of a Colourist with canvases often reminiscent of quilts or tapestries, with lavish, brilliant colour.
As an artist I value serendipitous learning & working long hours alone.
