Soul Dream Mar 2006 Mixed media on canvases, mounted on board c. 900x900x70mm
I plan to explore the use of blues using Soul Dream as the starting point of the series. My favourite blue for a while has been Prussian.

Ohhh what a beautiful piece! Actually pieces! It looks as if you can take it apart and put it back together like a puzzle. Either way, it's fantastic! Love it!
You are correct about the pieces being like a puzzle, Angela. The work started out as a triptych & then 6 other pieces were added. It took me a while to work out how I wanted them mounted in relation to each other!
From initial interest and employment in the fields of ticket-writing and calligraphy, my mark-making has progressed to richly textured, multi-layered abstract paintings - often including script.
I so love being a painter! My work has been described as that of a Colourist with canvases often reminiscent of quilts or tapestries, with lavish, brilliant colour.
As an artist I value serendipitous learning & working long hours alone.

It works beautifully. Blue is my favourite colour.
Hi Philip. I usually say purple is my favourite colour.
I have a blue painting in my thoughts. It's 40x40" & has a splash of cadmium orange somewhere on it. One day when it's a reality I shall post it.
