Is that Sister Mary Horn? ... if so I met her a couple of weeks ago at the Burns Pollock life-drawing workshop in Oamaru .... small world, eh?

Hello, Angela. I was experimenting with using both matte & gloss varnishes. Haven't tried that again but I did like the outcome.
