To blog or not to blog...

Mother's Legacy (IV)
100x100x35mm canvas
Dec 2006
Acrylics, dressmaking pattern, shellac
NZ$50
SOLD

I seem to do quite a few of these miniature paintings. They are lovely to hold, place in groups, give as an impromptu gift...

My mother has been clearing out her dressmaking patterns...some the patterns of my childhood clothing. Fortunately I was around to take them. It's time for them to get out a little!

Wooow - this Work is like the Artist ... absolutely fantistic and very special ... I can visualize a whole series of these around a large wall - I know of one coming up! ... I hope your Ma had plenty of patterns.

As a clothing designer who loves construction this is definately a favourite of mine. I think its absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look & comment, Rochelle. In the past I have used tissue just for texture. I had planned to use the patterns in the same way but when I laid them on the canvas they looked too beautiful to hide.
